(LIVE STREAM) YELENA POPOVIC ON NEW FILM, "MOSES THE BLACK"
On November 9 we observed the celebration of the feast day of Saint Nektarios with documentaries on his life and interviews with the writer and director of his biopic, "Man of God", Yelena Popovic (link). At present Popovic is working in a new movie, "Moses the Black" set in Chicago's West Side, which is expected out in theaters on January 30. Tonight she is Father Peter Heers' guest on Orthodox Ethos. Starts at 9pmET.

Earlier this month Popovic was on with Father Turbo Qualls to discuss her inspiration for the film, including her story of overcoming a writing block and discovering the missing piece of the story through prayer at a monastery. Father Turbo was also part of the project.

Popovic talks about the icon of Saint Moses the Black, that Father Moses Berry was gifted by an African nun and that he had almost removed from the Church.
She also shares behind-the-scenes moments of filming and bonding in Chicago with former gangsters and Father Berry’s praise of the film for its unfiltered nature and authentic depiction of genuine repentance.
