(CHRISTMAS 2025) A KALANTA A DAY: "LET'S WELCOME HIM"

🍊 In the countdown to Christmas we are posting a traditional Greek Christmas Carol or a Greek Orthodox Christmas Hymn a day. Today "Ας τον καλαναντρίσομε" (As ton kalanantrisoume - Let's welcome Him), a traditional Carol from the Island of Ikaria by Katerina Papadopoulou of the Domna Samiou Choir. English subtitles available. Greek researcher and performer of Greek folk music, Domna Samiou (Wikipedia) recorded the carol in the 70s. Based on this recording, Katerina Papadopoulou continues the interpretation of Samiou in the traditional way.
