In the countdown to Christmas we are posting a traditional Greek Christmas Carol or a Greek Orthodox Christmas Chant a day. Today's kalanta, "Kalanta Vizantina", a Byzantine Carol by Dimitris Basis (link) accompanied by the Estoudiantina Neas Ionias (link). The Carol is part of the album, "Xairois Endoxe Lazare" (Chairis Endoxe Lazare - Greetings, Glorious Lazarus) from which we shall hear much more before Christmas Eve.
