🍊 In the countdown to Christmas we are posting a traditional Greek Christmas Carol or a Greek Orthodox Christmas Hymn a day. Today "Καλώς τα Χριστούγεννα" (Kalos ta Christougenna - Welcome Christmas), a traditional Carol from the Island of Ikaria by the Domna Samiou Choir. English subtitles available. Greek researcher and performer of Greek folk music, Domna Samiou (Wikipedia) recorded the carol in the 70s. Based on this recording, Katerina Papadopoulou continues the interpretation of Samiou in the traditional way.
