IMEC AND LNG: THIS CHRISTMAS GREEKS CAN BREATH A LITTLE EASIER

Greek Energy Minister, Stavros Papastavrou (Wiki) has been doing the rounds of Fox Business hosts in the US, boasting Greece's newly secured status as an energy hub. In interviews on Fox News and with eKathimerini Parastavrou explained the intricacies of the Vertical Corridor (link) and singing the praises of newly arrived Trump Ambassador to Greece, Kimberley Guilfoyle. The supply of American Liquid Gas (LNG) to eastern Europe through Greece does not stand alone. It is just one thread in a spiderweb of integrated projects, such as the GSI (link), the 3+1 Framework? (link) and the IMEC? This alphabet soup spells a powerful change in geostrategy in which Greece plays a pivotal role.

In an interview with Politico, President Trump states he is so friendly with President Erdogan of Turkey, that NATO leaders ask him to talk to him when they can't. Trump would not have signed off on the energy investments in Greece if he was not confident that he can handle Turkish belligerence. That's an important piece of information.
