UTTER CONFUSION IN TEHRAN, NEGOTIATIONS IN PAKISTAN (OR ARE THERE?) AND TRUMP HAS EUROPE OVER A BARREL

Following our previous reporting (link), the military operation by US and Israeli forces on Iran on Tuesday went into its twenty-fifth day. Ships are slowly passing through the Strait of Hormuz again. Earlier, Iran denied claims stating that ships are paying for safe passage to the tine 1 to 2 million a pop. Officially or not, the chokehold has started to reopen. How and who is conducting negotiations with Iran at this time is unclear, but something is moving. There is obviously confusion in Tehran after tiers of leaders have been taken out. Communications are bound to be sketchy or cut altogether. The regime has dispersed, but now not knowing who does what. Trump said "somebody inside Iran is talking to us". But he didn't say who.

(...) The regime has dispersed, but now not knowing who does what. Trump said "somebody inside Iran is talking to us". But he didn't say who. 

Iranian officials are tripping over each other to prove their loyalty, the entire leadership structure is exposed and terrified of being seen as the one who blinked. Every faction immediately sprinted to deny it was them talking to the Americans.

In other important news, if this is no deep fake, a video has come out showing CENTCOM Commander Admiral Cooper delivering a message to the Iranian people: "There will be a clear signal at some point... for you to come out".


The Saudis have been reporting that a plane carrying Iranian speaker of Parliament, Qalibaf, has flown from Tehran to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, for negotiations. The flight was apparently coordinated with the US according to the outlet (link). 


A Pakistani official said to Reuters that US VP, JD Vance, special envoys Witkoff and Kusher were expected to meet Iranian officials in Islamabad this week, following a call between Trump and Pakistan's army chief (and de facto Leader), Asim Munir (link).

Pakistan is positioning itself as the "lead mediator" between the US and Iran amid peace talk discussions, per FT. Details include:
1. Pakistan is using its ties to Iran and "warm relationship" with President Trump
2. Pakistan has pitched Islamabad as venue for talks in the coming days involving senior figures from the Trump administration and Iran
3. Pakistan's Army chief Asim Munir spoke with Trump on Sunday
4. Pakistan's Prime Minister held talks with Iranian President Pezeshkian on Monday (link)

The negotiations in Islamabad have now been confirmed by Israel, to the extent that Rabbi Pesach Wolicki today posted a video in which he is talking to commentator Dr David Wurmser about the horrors of this 'Venezuela scenario' (link). Here is Qalibaf in an X message about Gaza and Epstein (link). 

I am leaving this here to draw your own conclusions about the merits of this prospect. Myself, I am now thoroughly over the emo-ethical way of looking at international relations. They can never be confused with friendships on the human level. Look who is talking in the podcast (link)! You can cut the hypocrisy with a knife!

Qalibaf himself claimed it's all fake news by Trump to manipulate the financial and oil markets (link). Here's what Trump has been saying about the alleged talks (link). Trump also said the Strait of Hormuz could come under joint control with Iran following regime change (link). 

The Jerusalem Post is listing what US military deployment and arrivals are moving forward as planned, according to the NYT. Current deployment: 2,500 Marines 2,000 sailors 3,000 paratroopers 3 amphibious ships (link).

In other news but related, CNBC is reporting that Trump has the European bureaucrats over a barrel (pun intended): sign the $750 billion trade deal by March 26 or lose favorable access to our LNG.

The logic is as follows: Qatar's LNG (17% of global capacity) is offline for 3 to 5 years after Iranian drone strikes, Russia’s pipeline gas is cut, and Norway is maxed out, leaving America as Europe's only scalable supplier (link).


So this is what happens when you cripple yourself ideologically with utopian, made up goals like Net Zero.

I don't know who needs to know this, but WSJ has posted a roundup showing how various allies in Europe are finally contributing to the war effort, each in the own way (link).
