PRESIDENT TRUMP AND VIKTOR ORBAN PRESS BRIEFING
The PM of Hungary, Viktor Orban is visiting US President Trump today, marking the first bilateral meeting between the two leaders since Trump 2.0. Orban is offering his assistance in finding a peaceful solution to the war in Ukraine and seeks to secure an exemption from sanctions on Russian energy imports, due to Hungary’s landlocked status. Orban explained Hungary's specific energy situation in answer to questions from a journalist. When it came to define the specific ideology governing his administration as opposed to the EU, Orban described it as 'modern' Christianity -- presumably meaning, 'contemporary' rather than Modernist Christianity. He characterized the ideology governing the EU as Leftist Liberalism. For his cleaving to national sovereignty Hungary is paying Brussels the hefty price of a million euros a day in fines.
