NOVEMBER 25: THE CELEBRATION OF SAINT KATHERINE
November 25 marks the celebration of one of the most beloved saints in Eastern Orthodoxy, Saint Katherine. Saint Katherine's Day commemorates the martyrdom of the great saint of Alexandria, one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. She was beheaded by Emperor Maximinus II in AD 305. She is venerated as the patron saint of philosophers, scholars, students, unmarried women, and those seeking marriage. The Monastery of Saint Catherine at Mount Sinai, founded by Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century, is believed to house her relics. Greek vlogger The Orthodox Traveler takes us through the biography of Saint Katherine and what she means for Christianity. Note: set your auto translator to your desired settings.
