FATHER STEPHEN DE YOUNG ON "THE BAAL BOOK"

Father Stephen de Young (playlist "The Lord of Spirits") has a new book out on "The Baal Cycle" offering insight into the refences to Baal and his cult in the Old Testanment. The Baal Cycle itself  is an ancient Ugaritic text composed of six tablets dating to approximately 1500–1100 BC. It is a cycle of stories centered on Baal, a Canaanite storm god associated with fertility, who is identified with the Northwest Semitic deity Hadad. The narrative, written in the Ugaritic language in cuneiform, was discovered in the 1920s during excavations at the ancient city of Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra) in northern Syria (more on Brave AI).
