"ORTHODOXY AND THE RELIGION OF THE FUTURE"

In this podcast Maria Zeee (YT) and Jay Dyer are discussing Father Seraphim Rose's book, "Orthodoxy & The Religion of the Future"(link). Father Seraphim was an American Orthodox convert, born Eugene Dennis Rose (1934-1982) and a prominent hieromonk of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) (more). He initially studied Chinese philosophy at Pomona College, graduating magna cum laude in 1956, and later earned a master's degree in Oriental languages from the University of California. After a period of atheism and personal struggles, including a homosexual relationship, Rose converted to Orthodoxy and was received into ROCOR through chrismation in 1962. He took the monastic name Seraphim at his tonsure in October 1970 and was ordained a priest in 1977 by Bishop Nektary of Seattle.
