(LIVE BLOG) ISRAEL-HAMAS AGREEMENT: WILL IT WORK?

During the live Roundtable on Antifa on Oct. 8 Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio interrupted the proceedings by slipping a note to President Trump that he was wanted in the peace negotiations between Israel and Hamas, which had now reached a critical stage (link). A day later, again live, during a televised Cabinet Meeting President Trump announced that a deal had been reached and he was planning to fly to Sharm al Sheikh, Egypt over the weekend to put some signatures to the agreement (link). Let's try to get a sense of what is on the table and what the 20 points are that have been agreed on with the mediation of Qatar, Egypt and Turkey. Glenn Beck was first to add a few very useful observations. The rest of the pundits are just throwing buckets of cold water.

Oct. 9, 2025 Glenn Beck: NEGOTIATOR-IN-CHIEF: How Trump got the Gaza deal done.

After the Abraham Accords during Trump 1.0 it occurred to me that 'the international community' having worked the issue to no avail, not for years, but for decades, whether consciously or subconsciously, are actually working to prolong these intractable conflicts.

Oct. 9, 2025 Glenn Beck:Israel and Hamas sign Trump's historic deal. Will it work?

A similar thought seems to have occurred to Beck. President Trump's unconventional approach cuts through these thick layers of calcified protocol and preconceived positions, like a knife through butter.

Let's not forget, these are opportunities for politicians, diplomats and their officials to shine on the world stage and to prove to the world and to themselves that they somehow matter. Never mind, the money and the slush funds that often go with it

The Palestinians are the sole people that have been living on the dole of the UN for the last eighty years. Like individual persons, a people cannot thrive when they are living in dependency. These people have been fostering hatred and enculturating it in their children onto the fifth generation. What can you expect?

We shall be reporting on this live blog any new developments worth mentioning. President Trump has been invited to address the Israeli Knesset, which he accepted. It's all ad hoc work in the coming days, as no one expected a development like this.
