ORTHODOX PILGRIMAGE: THE HOLY ISLAND OF IONA, SCOTLAND

We join Father Andrew Stephen Damick, Pastor Mike Landsman, Father Jacob Siemens and Deacon Seraphim Rohlin as they are riding a train on pilgrimage to the holy island of Iona in Scotland. The reason why this pilgrimage is of interest, is because it takes us back to a time lost to most European Christians: before the Great Schism of 1054 and before the onset of Protestantism. It is an era that time forgot, when even Roman Catholicism as we know it today did not exist. The time of the true οικουμένη - one ecumene as it was meant to be, when every Christian by default was also an Orthodox. The pilgrims talk about their hopes for their quest and what the point of it even is.
