(LIVE STREAMS) PURSUING PEACE: MULTILATERAL MEETING ENDED

Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin held a meeting on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage, Alaska that focused on ending the war in Ukraine and rekindling their relationship (link). Both parties said the meeting was a success. The panic on the European continent is so great, that Zelensky during tomorrow's meeting in Washington DC will be chaperoned by a considerable number of them in order to make sure peace will not break out. It enforces the impression that Zelensky is like a baby with a razor on the great chessboard of geopolitics.

All parties have arrived at the White House. President Trump and V. Zelensky held a short press briefing in which Pr. Trump said he'll be talking again to Pr. Putin after the conclusion of today's meetings. Pr. Trump and Zelensky are currently in a bilateral discussion.

The group photo was just taken with no one looking particularly happy or victorious. 

President Zekensky has agreed to a meeting with President Putin. President Trump has offered to attend to facilitate the negotiations which was accepted by Zelensky. Trump believes that in about two weeks time we will know if a deal has a chance of success.

The multilateral meeting has started after personal declarations. The press was present. The leaders did not take any questions.

The reactions today in Europe reveal just how far its leaders are removed from reality. We are hearing reports conveying messages from the various capitals, indicating that "Europeans have the right to participate in the negotiations with Russia".

On what basis you might ask. None, just because they exist. Its citizens may think they are entitled to all kinds of nonsense, but political leaders should know better. But they don't. They have also been brought up on a diet of entitled liberalism 

Reality does not work that way. Both Trump and Putin know this. Putin because he is an educated man and knows his history, and Trump because he is a builder and a business man. Power, at the core is economic, soft power is culture and the art of communication. Hard power, is just a way of enforcing actual power. 

If you know that, it's not hard to see how Europe's ideologies are destroying its power bases. Go woke, go broke, it not just an epigram. It is the final performance of a failed ideology that has been incubating the seed of its own suicide.

All these leaders are presiding over the destruction of their own countries individually and collectively, as an economic unit and as the symbols of their own bankrupt ideology.
