SCIENTIST ON TUCKER CARLSON CLAIMS 'SHROUD OF TURIN' IS REAL

As far as I'm concerned, I don't believe anyone anymore. Highest on the list of suspects are politicians and scientists of any description. And if I was a film director and I had to describe how I would portray a charlatan, he'd probably very much look like Jeremiah J. Johnston (bio). That is to say, he's probably on the level or he would have sported a three piece suit. Whether the claims of this Ph.D., M.A., M.Div., B.A. concerning the veracity of the Shroud of Turin are convincing, I am leaving for you to decide. What I can say is this. The facts he is citing are born out by earlier readings I heard of the case. For what that is worth.

Of course, certainty about the veracity of the shroud might lead to all sorts of interesting consequences, but the scientific pursuit of 'proving' facts about the faith, is a Western approach to religion.

Taking this opportunity to point out that Western scientists are maniacally focused on the single question: did it really happen? If it didn't, the whole thing is dismissed as 'myth'.

The mythically inclined on the other hand, are oriented on the question, what does it mean? If "it really happened" is beside the point.
