(LIVE BLOG) US-EU TRADE DEBACLE MAY NOT BECOME REALITY

On Sunday at Trump Turnberry Golf Course in Scotland, the US and the EU signed a historical trade deal. It was historical in various senses of the word. President Trump negotiated the deal on behalf of the people of the United States of America according to his principle, America First. On the side of the EU the agreement was negotiated by EU President Ursula von der Leyen on behalf of.. fairness.

July 28, 2025 Alex Christoforou: EU Ursula DISASTER deal. US LNG affordable & BETTER. UK/Australia to fight China. AUSTRIA, join NATO. Update

Update: Alex calls to mind the disastrous EU trade trip to China last week, which went so badly, the EU delegation left after a day. Russia of course is out of the questions as a partner. So the European czars painted themselves in a corner without leverage in the negotiations with Trump.

The justifications why they had to agree to this deal are illustrating how feeble and out their depths these people are. American gas is "better" and more "affordable" than Russian gas, Ursula gasped.

But at least "uncertainty is over" and an "all out trade war has been averted". And even more important is the "safeguarding of the Atlantic unity" and "Europe's energy security by ridding it of dependence on Russian gas".

And the dog ate their homework.

Reaction from Viktor Orban makes clear that the agreement is so unrealistic that it may never be implemented. Trump knows this of course. He usually thinks two or three steps ahead.  If they default, he has them even more over a barrel.

In the meantime the EU is taking out a loan to buy US weapons for rogue state Ukraine and is booting Israel from its Horizon research and innovations program. And Turkey is upgraded as it continues its occupation of a third of the island of Cyprus.

The EU's march towards the abyss continues unabated.

US AND EU SIGN 'HISTORICAL' TRADE DEAL

July 27, 2025 RSBN: FULL REMARKS: President Trump and the President of the EU Commission discuss trade deals.

The EU has been ripping off the US for ages, levying heavy tariffs on all US products entering the EU, while the EU paid none to the US. This was in the name of 'fair trade'. The US is bigger and freer than the EU, you see.

President Trump finally put a stop to this situation. With the result that the EU is now paying 15 percent tariffs on all EU goods entering the US, while the US pays no tariffs at all for US goods to the EU.

This is what you get when globalists are running your eparchy. Their standard is 'fairness', not the wellbeing of the people or their economy. The matron herself looks like she's swallowed her own broom stick.

After hearing the details of the deal, a reporter asked: "What are the US concessions? What is the US giving up in the deal, if anything?" Ursula von der Leyen:

"The starting point was an imbalance, a surplus on our side and a deficit on the US Side. And we wanted to rebalance the trade relations. And we wanted to do it in a way that trade goes on between the two of us across the Atlantic, because the two biggest economies should have a good trade flow between us. And I think we hit exactly the point we wanted to find."

The same globalist mentality that ripped off the US for decades, is now rebalancing the books. Just bad luck for you as a citizen of the countries it hits! The globalists don't care. It's their club that matters. That's fair! Trump for his part, is saving the US.

So here's the deal:

- The EU now gets charged 15 percent tariffs on its exports to the US while they commit to charging zero tariffs on US imports in the EU.

- The EU agrees to invest $600 billion in the US.

- The EU will procure hundreds of billions of dollars of weapons from the US military-industrial complex.

- The EU is buying 750 billion dollars worth of very expensive US liquid gas, specifically $250 billion for each of the next 3 years.

In exchange for all these concessions and extraction of their wealth they get... nothing.

July 28, 2025 The Duran: US-EU Trade Deal. Trump gets everything, Ursula gets nothing.

Alexander Merkouris brings to mind that one of the main reasons of existence of the EU is the argument that it will be able to negotiate better deals as a union, than individual states alone. That myth is now dead.

The parliaments in the member states may yet put up a rebellion, but don't count on it. Mentally they are in the same place. Or it will advance the break up the pseudo empire following its economic collapse.

But hey, here's more good news! President Trump went off on wind energy:

"We won’t allow a windmill to be built in the United States. They're killing us. They're killing the beauty of our scenery... The most expensive form of energy. They're made in China."

It seems like a off shore wind turbines park in Greece has been quietly shelved.
