(MUSIC VIDEO) "ELLA, ELLA", MORE THAN EPIC SUMMER GOLD

And now for something light, yet meaningful. Last week Greek artists Yannis Kotsiras and Eleonora Zouganeli released a single with an official video clip that was produced with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In the description the producers of the clip are declaring they sought to present Greece as their "pure, authentic, deeply moving and inexhaustible source of inspiration", "recreating images that express the soul and beauty of our land", "a bright, symbolic, timeless country". It looks like White Mask Media entirely succeeded in that endeavor. Let's analyze this from up close.

The enchantment of the mythical, high energy, almost overwhelmingly positive production conveys values like patriotism, a traditional way of life based on Christianity and deeply rooted in a people who have been living off the land and seas for millennia.

It conveys 'inclusivity' [wince] without so much as a whiff of woke. Which is a miracle today all by itself. White Mask Media's AI is already better than many of the other AI products around which are said to be filled with woke bias!

The new technology is masterfully and seamlessly integrated into a common experience and a way of life, in which time honored traditions stand guard against fleeting, but hostile influences. This is as it should be (whatever the merits of AI may turn out to be in the future). "Ella ella" shows it can be done! 

The underlying message of the book titled "Our Greece" sinking to the bottom of the sea and rescued by a mythical Nereid, nevertheless conveys the warning that this beloved and truly unique nation may be in danger. Which it perpetually is, as all things of value are, by their definition. 

The artists have probably intended to avoid direct political messaging. I commend them for it. Some things in life are greater than mere politics, and this is one of those cases. For once I will join them and refrain from further comment 😏

I hope "Ella Ella" will storm the charts and become the earth shattering summer hit 🌞🌊⛱ that it deserves to be. Thank you for everything you are doing to enrich our lives! 🙏

For the fans of Kotsiras we have a special Weekend Summer Concert later today or tomorrow of a performance in Cyprus given on July 2, with compositions by the late composer Thanos Mikroutsikos with whom Kotsiras had a special personal relationship (link).
