Think of Elon Musk, the creep Peter Thiel and VP JD Vance's connections to Palantir. Steve Bannon recently gave an interview in the New York Times about this issue. The utter, half catechized nonsense the so-called Christian, Peter Thiel (which I don't believe for a second) is expressing in the interview connects to a passage in the book that I am currently writing:
"After Marx we reached the era of progressivism proper. It existed in Europe of course, but only in the United States a specific period has been historically identified as The Progressive Era, roughly from the 1890s to the 1920s. It is a typically American idea that technological growth is some kind of inevitable law of nature, and without it, the world will collapse.
