THE POST WORLD WAR II ORDER IS PASSING INTO HISTORY (2)
You could see present post as a part 2 of an earlier piece we did on the Post War War II era passing into history (link). For the last two decades people feel that we are on the brink of a new era, we just don't know yet how that is going to look like. But with the new Trump administration putting paid to the liberal 'rules based order', it is becoming more apparent than ever that we are on the brink of a new era. After his debate with Roman Catholic theologian, R.R. Reno (link), Winston Marshall is building on the same theme with Jonathan Pageau of the Symbolic World podcast (link).

The interview touches on a number of significant issues. Hegel's rat wheel is figuring prominently in Western culture, with public debates closely following Hegel's formula, thesis > antithesis > synthesis. The book I am working on explains this phenomenon in some detail and suggests how to get off Hegel's rat wheel.
It is the main obstacle to a more balanced culture. One of the causes of the social issues prevailing in the West is moral purity, rooted in the idea of absolute good and absolute evil. Couple that to idea of post Enlightenment secular ideologies, and it become clear how the last century could have claimed the lives of 110 million people.
In a separate post today -- even more controversial than the present -- we discuss how bad theology is causing bad results. The same is true for bad philosophy. Evil is not an absolute, but a depravation. Too much of anything is causing much of the problems that are plaguing Western culture.
Key to getting off the rat wheel that is causing the veering from one extreme into the next, is moderation. The recipe, what percentage of ingredients produces the best possible result, is still out. But getting off the rat wheel would be a great start. We are still very far removed from achieving even that.

A word on why you would want to reclaim the swastika, a symbol that has been appropriated by an evil empire? Here we are back at the problem of Nominalism, that has been part of Western culture since the Scholastic era.
Nominalism -- the philosophy from hell (link) -- not just causes fragmentation, the loss of essences and universals, but also results in the negation of hierarchies.
Pageau explaining that the swastika 'is bigger' than the en-a-zee-eyes and their ideology, Marshall has no idea what Pageau is talking about. Experiencing reality as a flat, meaningless world in which everything is 'the same', every sense of proportion gets lost.
