(MUSIC VIDEO) SICK OF TAYLOR SWIFT? WE GOT ANTIDOTE!
It looks like the blog has been fitted out with a new unplanned feature: the music video. After reporting on the concert last Tuesday in the Veakeio Theater in Piraeus of Greek artist, singer, composer and musician Yannis Kotsiras (link), we were struck by the compare and contrast presented by another Greek mega talent, Ioulia Karapataki and a news item on the chaos in London in the run-up to a concert of politically front loaded emissary of Joe Biden, Taylor Swift. Rummaging through the appropriate search engine showed pictures of Swift, mostly in her underwear in various stages of moral decay (link).
May 24, 2024 Ioulia Karapataki: Νερό στη Βάρκα (Nero sti Varka) - Live at Technopolis, Athens, Sept. 2023 (playlist).
Karapataki is the very contrast of Swift, a singer with an oversized mouth with which she produces a blend of traditional and newly composed Greek songs with jazz and some other influence that is hard to describe.
She is accompanied by a group of musicians whose skills took my breath away. Also note the instrumentation: a massive contrabas, majestic horns, the warm sound of the violin and yes, a bagpipe!
They are programmed for a concert on Sept. 9 at the Lycabettus Theater in Athens (link).
Jan. 1, 2024 Melodia 99.2: Ioulia Karapataki in Οι Κασέτες του Μελωδία 99.2.
