HOW TYRANNY COULD TAKE OVER THE WESTERN WORLD

In the following interview Neil Oliver is talking to academic Ralph Schoellhammer. This man is spot on in his analysis of the current state of the Western world. And not just that. It shows mercilessly that the present rulers have arrogated themselves into entire layers of human existence, which are not the domain of politics at all! They could perpetrate this usurpation, because there was no one to defend the domain that governs spiritual life, the clergy having checked out a long time ago. And since power abhors a vacuum, the ruling elite jumped right into it.

If you have no idea what I am talking about, check "Secular Law, Common Culture and Personal Liberty", part 6 in a series on the Enlightenment dealing with the difference between Secular and Sacred Authority (link). But here's the concept in short. 

Classical Greek thinkers, like Thucydides, Plato and Aristotle were the first to ponder how to constitute a State. They distinguished two separate domains that control the actions of citizens: the Sacred Authority and the Secular Authority. The two are quite distinct.

Secular authority is expressed in structures, institutions, processes, rules and laws and governance. Sacred authority is self control exerted through societies'  traditions, civic virtues based on common religious and ethnic practices.

This indicates the danger a free society is in when the Secular Authority trespasses on the province of the Sacred Authority: in a free country personal morality must always be the final authority in any personal decision. When common ethos and personal morality are subjugated to State coercion, the moral stops being the moral. Morality is voluntary by definition!

With the loss of Christianity and without a clear concept of civic virtue, European countries continued to integrate both authorities in semi totalitarian states in the name of equality. Many intellectuals accepted the ideas of Hegel, Marx and Nietzsche; the concept of the separation of church and state was put on its head. Intellectuals and elites declared God Is Dead while they themselves annexed Sacred Authority to their domain of operation.

Armed with this knowledge it is not hard to see what happened in the West in the last two decades or so. Per Schoellhammer the Sacred Authority had been reduced to flags and football -- imagine that being the sum total of a society's spiritual life -- and when the postmodern ruling elite took even that away from them as 'outdated' the nation as a whole fell into the hell of total nihilism.

Is it any wonder there are countries like Russia, Hungary and Serbia that reject this morally illegitimate spiritual desert. Greece however, by way of its globalist government --was within their clutches and they crowed Victory Over The First Orthodox Country when the same sex marriage bill passed in Parliament (link). Thank God the country has a very strong Sacred Authority they completely underestimate.
