(MUSIC VLOG) YANNIS KOTSIRAS LIVE AT VEAKEIO, PIRAEUS
Last Tuesday June 18 yours truly attended a long awaited concert of the world famous Greek singer and musician, Yannis Kotsiras. Our own technical skills let us down in the video department, but YouTuber Kostas Rallis managed to make a number of watchable documents. As you'll be able to tell, the Piraeus crowd was a very rowdy lot. But especially first three songs from Kotsiras' latest album, Ένα άλλο παραμύθι (Ena Allo Paramythi), Ένα φεγγάρι δρόμος (Ena Fengari Dromos) and Τα ροδα της αμμου (Ta Roda tis Ammou) which are not yet very well known, are quite clean audio wise. Of course we are not in the music business here. But what we are most definitely into is shots in the arm against the viral spread of nihilism and cynicism. If you're looking for re-enchantment, innocent romance and the chase of a spiritually wholesome memes, you've come to the right place. June 18, 2024 Playlist: Yannis Kotsiras live at the Veakeio Theater, Piraeus.
Kostas has kindly provided the lyrics of the songs in the descriptions on his YouTube channel. I am giving you here just the latinized transcription of the titles. I am done with translating Greek poetry of any imagination. The level of abstraction is often so high that the translation makes no sense. Or can only be forced into making sense by doing harm to the original. By all means, run the lyrics through a translator, but don't raise your expectations.
