WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED OF TURKISH RULE IN SYRIA? (UPDATE)

Yesterday we posted an overview of President-Elect Trump's first presser of his second term in office. It covered a wide range of  subjects and questions. But one issue stood out specifically as worthy of further examination, and that is the role of Turkey with regard to the situation in Syria. It underlines the question, what this portends in the future for relations of Turkey's President Erdogan with NATO, the US and President Trump personally. It is easy to overlook a number of articles contained in X messages in yesterdays post (link). We'll have a look at this bunch and try to assess their value. Let's start off with Alex Christoforou in Cyprus, who is closest geographically to this issue.

Dec. 17, 2024 Alex Christoforou: Scholz loses confidence vote. Canada chaos, Freeland gone. Ukraine SBU assassinates Russian General. Turkey: as of 17:36 mark.

For accuracy's sake let's first get the matter out of the way that most Americans have no clue about the intricacies of ethnic politics or the course of history.

And so it could happen that Trump believes the Turks have been on the block for thousands of years, instead of having descended from the Mongolian steppes only around the turn of the century, the one following the year 999AD to be precise.

The Seljuk Turk conquest of Persia happened from 1037-1040), while the Byzantine Empire was overrun in 1048-1049. It matters, if only directionally. But I digress.

The losers in this conflict are evidently Iran and those swathes of the Syrian people that do not adhere to the Sunni Islamic persuasion whose political arm is called the Muslim Brotherhood. I don't care if they're labeled ISIS, AQ or if aligned to any other terror group.

However good the script writers in DC are trying to rewrite the playbook for the rehabilitation of friendly terrorists, we know how this works and how it ends.

One of the main blots on the West's copy book, has been the hypocrisy of acting against its own declared 'values' if it is politically expedient.

In 2012 there were five eparchies ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood: Qatar, Sudan, Egypt, Turkey and Gaza. We know what happened in Gaza. As far as can be assessed the MB is not directly ruling Sudan anymore. The role of Qatar is as murky as ever, but the MBHQ moved from Doha to Istanbul. How the MB happened to take power in Egypt in 2012, is interesting.

The Obama regime triggered an so-called 'Arab Spring', a fake 'astroturf' revolution with parties we now know as 'the blob,' led by the State Dept. and the National Endowment for Democracy.

It was only the pluckiness of the Egyptian people and the current President, Al Sisi that worse was averted in the nick of time, ousting the Morsi Muslim Brotherhood from power.

Here are a number of posts we wrote at the time. It is clear how the Obama/Clinton regime brought these terrorists to power. By the looks of it, the blob have been pulling this trick yet again, this time in Syria.

Let 's close by summing up a number of articles on the subject of Turkey and its relations on the world stage, that readers may have overlooked yesterday.

Some people still believe in the 'ideals' and 'principles' the West once stood for. It is obvious that time is over. What counts to those in power today, is just that: staying in power, as regimes are collapsing all over the place. And what brings them down, is astronomical debt and people losing trust in these sociopathic overlords.
