FASTING AND THE ATHOS DIET FOR BETTER HEALTH
Orthodox vlogger David Patrick Harry had a very interesting talk recently with Dr Pete Patitsas (YouTube channel), an ER doctor and Orthodox Christian to discuss the benefits of fasting and the Athos diet concerning health and longevity. Dr Patitsas has a few good tips and tricks for those already exercising fasting to improve their experience.

While we are on the subject of health and dieting I got a few tips of my own. I managed to actually cure diabetes in a matter of months. There is still a lot of misunderstandings and wrong information about diabetes.
It's not just about the sugar intake, but primarily the quantities of carbohydrates such as bread, potatoes, pastas, rice (also the whole grain varieties) that the body turns into sugars.
I got my diabetes under control by limiting these dishes to just one or two times a week at most, and practicing intermittent fasting, even after cutting the diet after ten months or so.
But every organism is different, so use this as a guideline only after consulting your doctor. A great source on diabetes online is Dennis Pollock on YouTube. Catch Dennis on his channel 'Beat Diabetes'.
I am sure there will be people pointing out that the purpose of fasting is not health, but religious discipline. Sure, I agree. But while you're at it, wouldn't it be nice to have some health benefits as well?
