THERE'S LIFE AFTER THE TEARS, DESPAIR AND FURY OF MUNICH (UPDATE)
The brave, new world that is meant to replace the tired and outdated Post World War 2 liberal world order (link) is moving with the speed of light, or so it seems. 'Flooding the zone' is a well tested and successful approach taken by President Trump. The idea is to create as many accomplished facts with such break neck speed that no one is able to prevent it. He must have pondered how the new world of influence spheres would take shape during his years in the wilderness, or perhaps even before his descend on the golden escalator in 2014. His VP, J.D. Vance and Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth both threw their respective stones into the pond at NATO HQ last week (link) and at the Security Summit in Munich last week, driving the collective European leaders to tears, despair and fury. Trump's decoy envoy Gen. Keith Kellogg did what he could to dose the fire, but there was no containing this 'woman scorned'. We take it from here.
Feb. 17, 2025 Alex Christoforou: EU ANGER with Trump-Putin talks. Starmer 25K troops to Ukraine. MAD King Kyiv, Putin plans NATO war.
The entire European contingent at the Munich Summit, including NATO Chief Mark Rutte, is decamping to Paris to join 'Little Napoleon' in expressing their outrage. Let's not forget where these people are coming from. The entire idea of the European Union is based on small, historic nations coming together to enable successful competition on the world stage with giants like the US, Russia and China. And now the American President has made them feel redundant. The entire EU project is looking at massive failure.
Macron has called European leaders, including Keir Starmer, to an urgent meeting in Paris tomorrow in response to Donald Trump’s efforts to take control of the Ukraine peace plan with Russia. They are being sidelined and rightly so, because their intention is to keep the war… pic.twitter.com/41Vlqwj71O— Ian Miles Cheong (@stillgray) February 15, 2025
The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio has arrived in the capital of Saudi Arabia to lay the foundation for the summit of Presidents Trump and Putin. The Russian delegation is made up of Foreign Minister Lavrov and former Soviet diplomat serving as ambassador to the United States from 1998 until 2008, Yuri Ushakov.
Very interesting perspective from Victor Davis Hanson. Everything President Trump does is with intent.pic.twitter.com/jh0rupXUXl

The Russians are flying to Riyadh today to prepare for the meeting between Putin and Trump. On Tuesday they will hold a meeting with Rubio, US Security Advisor Mike Waltz and special Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, which will focus initially on "restoring the entire complex of Russian-American relations". It will also be preparing possible negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement and organizing a meeting between the two presidents".

Zelensky has arrived in the UAE, on standby to crash the party in Riyadh. A game that won't fly, if we know anything about Trump and the Russians. On Tuesday he will be flying to Ankara, Turkey and on Wednesday he will make his move on Riyadh.

'Madame EU President' Von der Leyen has returned to Brussels for further talks on Tuesday with Trump's envoy for Ukraine, General Kellogg, who is playing the role of middle man, probably on the basis of 'need-to-know' information, that is to say, that what he needs to know to appease and hold off the Ukrainians and Europeans, until the time is ripe to involve them in the talks.
Who's still wondering how we got here, is well advised to listen to Tucker Carlson's talk with Hungary's PM, Viktor Orban, happening simultaneously and in start contrast with the Munich summit (link).
