EUROPE GOT HANDED ITS BIRTH CERTIFICATE: NOW GROW UP! (UPDATE)

Per Alexander Merkouris' historical perspective (below) the anti Russian sentiment in the West is not a novelty, nor is it a natural state of affairs. As observers of history and geopolitics have pointed out, states do not have friends, they have interests. Hatred is not the opposite of love; indifference is. Hatred is a psychological phenomenon producing projection and a total lack of self awareness hiding guilt and envy. Given the history of the Cold War and the ideological expansionism that is in the nature of Communism, the fear in central and Eastern Europe for Russia is perhaps understandable. But the pathological Russophobia in the western part of Europe has no basis in present reality. It is rooted in a delusional narrative for political gain.

I have presented the case before in these pages, that the source of the irrational hatred for Russia may be sought in the earliest history of Europe: the newly conquered lands by germanic tribes and nomads on the carcass of Western Rome.

Of course these barbarians looked with envy at Eastern Rome based on Constantinople that continued to exist and which by that time, calculated by heartland Greece, had already some three and half millennia worth of history and civilization behind its belt.

After the Fall of Constantinople in 1453 -- rightly or wrongly -- Russia was seen by many as its continuation and called 'the third Rome' (link). I think the source of Western Russophobia must be sought there. We must not forget that the Turks may have sacked the city, but that was after centuries of Western European scheming, harassing and pilfering (not to mention the Fourth Crusade (link).

It has been established by observers like Mike Benz (link) that the plans at the heart of NATO's anti Russia campaign must be sought in the American security state. Russia is a huge country that can't be conquered or even geopolitically 'managed' in its current state.

So, if you run an American Empire and the main rival is occupying 'the world's island' according to the Heartland theory by McKinder (link), the thought of breaking up Russia and loot its minerals, is not an irrational thought. Evil, and risky, but not irrational.

The idea has been planted in the minds of European politicians for many years, as Merkouris' timeline explains. Regime change in the US and a new geopolitical concept developed by the now three weeks old new President of the USA, is not going to change that mindset with a few mere speeches by the Secretary of State or the Vice President (link). 

I think, President Trump must have half expected the bitter reactions by the old fogeys on the old continent. It is not a problem for his new vision of defending the US, which does include Greenland and the Panama Canal, but not Europe (read about Trump's version of the Monroe doctrine: link). 

It is no wonder some dinosaurs in the old countries are dusting off their old plans for the institution of some form of European armed forces, egged on by the green goblin of Kiev who sees that as a last ditch effort to save his scheme of having others fight and die in his war.

It doesn't leave much to the imagination what would happen if current crop of politicians would be able to lay its hands on a standing army. These dangerous conspirators in Munich would not hesitate to sacrifice a few million young lives to their vision of destroying Moscow after the Napoleontic French and Nazi Germans.

The time that Europe effectively was treated and conducted itself as an American protectorate, is well and truly over. The times have irrevocably changed, leaving the dinosaurs behind. The post World War 2 liberal rules based order has been buried and not a moment too soon.

It is about time that Europeans shook their old reflexes of fighting out disagreements on the battle field. That means that the people of Europe have to grow up and take ownership of their respective countries, as Americans have done before them since 1776.

US conservative student leader, Charlie Kirk had an X-message worth quoting in full (link):

It is our lands that our forbearers have tilted and built for two millennia by their own blood, sweat and tears. Politicians are not a landed gentry that owns us in a state of feudalism. We are proud, emancipated peoples who hire politicians to serve us for a short period of time and if they fail, we replace them.

So let's grow up and declare independence. If you must, dump a load full of tea in a harbor or other, but for crying out loud, grow a pair!
