THE CASE FOR VIRTUE MORALITY IN US FOREIGN POLICY

We're not done yet with the subject of the role that USAID has been playing in US foreign policy. The following interview that Tucker Carlson had with Mike Benz reveals just some of the problems Americans are going to face when and if they decide their soft power structures in foreign policy need a clean up. Watch with video and you are no longer wondering why the US is so unpopular in many quarters of the globe. At the time of the Cold War the issue was evidently ideological, but the example of the case with the toppling of the socialist Allende government on Chile explains that was not always the case. Benz ends by noting he is reflecting rather than advocating the way US soft power is operating across the globe. The fear is the entire edifice might collapse. But the danger is also very real that President Trump's America First principle would excuse amoral operations as long as they're done abroad, as was the case before 2016 when the foreign policy apparatus brought its playbook with dirty tricks home for use against Trump 1.0. Let's hope virtue morality is making a come back.
