(MUSIC VIDEO) XARCHAKOS CONCERT AT THE ANCIENT TEMPLE OF POSEIDON

Amidst all the political upheaval and geopolitical uncertainty, a music video celebrating the official illumination of the ancient Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio near Athens, taking place last night at a concert in which Stavros Xarchakos (IMDb) directed the Hellenic State Television Contemporary Music Orchestra. Xarchakos' compositions paid tribute to the cultural heritage of Greece. The illumination was undertaken by the internationally renowned lighting designer, Eleftheria Deco. Solists were singers Dimitris Basis, Iro Saia and Zacharias Karounis. In attendance, PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis and other government representatives.

Curating the finale for you as the musical apotheosis of this magical evening at Cape Sounio with the Master of Greek diatonics, Stavros Xarchakos. In the finale he worked plenty of chromatics even for the greatest of critics. Solists: vocalist, Iro Saia. Clarinet, Yiannis Diskos.

In a unique pairing of ancient heritage and modern art, the Ministry of Culture of Greece revamped the lighting of the iconic Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounio. The inauguration of the new lighting for the Temple of Poseidon took place on Monday, September 16th, 2024.
