The 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC) is an event in which delegates of the Republican Party will select the party's nominee for President and Vice President in the 2024 presidential election. It will be held on July 15 to 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Donald Trump as the presumptive nominee is expected to give his acceptance speech on Thursday. Other speakers slated are: Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Melania Trump, Mike Pence (former Vice President), Tucker Carlson, Marco Rubio (Florida Senator), Senator J.D. People seek perfection and purity, but this campaign reminds us there is no such thing on God's blessed earth. We shall have to accept for instance that political and religious positions may diverge. J.D. Vance is combining anti globalist views with an ecumenism that is totally anathema to the Orthodox (link). Jay Dyer has been commenting on Sikh lawyer Harmeet Dhillon's Vatican 2 natural theology (link). 


But never fear. Things always get worse. There is a drive to sway the tech world from the Democrat camp. The following podcast is important. There are huge names jumping on board the Trump train and we are not going to like it. These Babel builders have the arrogance to believe they can improve on God's work, and at some point a collision will become unavoidable. It plays into Vance and the Musk deal (video).

President Trump made his first appearance since the assassination attempt. The choice of VP has gone ahead straight away, which was a good decision given the circumstances. Everything has now changed. With J.D. Vance, Trump has chosen perhaps the most anti war candidate. But it is not a risk-free pick. Trump has done the one thing that he needed to do to make Trumpism long term. Vance has the potential to execute on the priorities of Trumpism and to get into the weeds while Trump is serving as the movement head.


He's picked someone who has the potential to serve as Trump's successor and carry on MAGA for a new generation while also being able to reach some groups that Trump doesn't reach easily. Some will not like his anti-Trump past (even though he has been one of Trump's most loyal and effective advocates in recent years). 

 

July 15, 2024 The Wall Street Journal: Who Is J.D. Vance? Why Trump Nominated Him for VP.

Elon Musk may have had something to do with Trump's VP pick. The connecting tissue is Peter Thiel. Musk said in a posting that Vance is assassination insurance for Trump! Vance is also MAGA, so if he replaced Trump rather than four years of Trump, the blob could face eight years plus of Vance.
