MARCO RUBIO OPENS CONFERENCE ON LEFT-WING VIOLENCE
US Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio today embarked on a revolutionary concept: an international conference in Washington DC focused on countering a resurgence of transnational Left-wing violence. For those defining this effort as 'peak boomerism' and reminiscent of the Cold War years and the 1970s, when political violence in Europe by groups like the Bader Meinhoff Group was rife, are reminded of the present take over of the US Democrat Party by far Left-wing candidates, of which New York Mayor Mamdani is but a recent example. The Left never dies; it just takes on another form. But the tactics and the strategeries never change.

The summit convened delegations from 65 countries to coordinate responses to political violence, infrastructure attacks, and industrial sabotage attributed to radical Left-wing networks.
Key attendees included Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, reflecting a strategy that integrates financial scrutiny and domestic policy with international diplomacy.
Rubio in his speech referenced the recent arson attack in Greece that resulted in the injury of Afroditi Nestora, her father and two other residents of the building. Her mother, Vagia Nestora (72) died several hours after the attack, having suffered burns over 80 percent of her body and damage to her lungs.
We are reminded that the best lies do not change the facts, they are in the framing. And the framing of Left-wing violence as somehow justified because coming from a heart of good intentions, is how this violence has been able to go unpunished for the last 250 years. The report about the arson attack is described by the journalists of Kathimerini as "an event" (link).
We don't know if Greece is represented at this conference. Just earlier this week a case of a fire bombing of the Marfin bank in 2010 in Athens in which three people were killed, was blown wide open through an anonymous e-mail. This has now led to the arrests of three suspects, one of whom is residing in London (link).
