VANCE: TRUMP SEEKS POWER AND WEALTH SHARING FOR AI
On the podcast, "The Diary Of A CEO" American VP JD Vance signaled where the Trump administration is going with regard to the social dimension of the wealth generated by machine learning and it's a shocker for a lot of people with biases (watch the whole podcast here (at 01:28 mark). I don't want to be pedantic here, but we have to stop humanization machines. Artificial Intelligence has nothing to do with the human mind, which is still a big enough mystery as it is without the tech bros pulling a fast one on us to oversell their product. But back to the matter at hand. In the interview Vance laid out the administration's vision how to share the power and wealth AI can potentially generate.
JD Vance just admitted the White House plan is to take ownership of every major AI company in America.Steven Bartlett brought up Bernie Sanders' proposal that workers should own 50% of the major AI companies.Vance's response: "The president by the way likes that idea too. Only days before the President of Argentina, Javier Milei, one of staunchest supporters of Libertarianism and laissez faire Capitalism, was pushing the usual binary choice: it's either that or the combined 110 million dead of Communism and National Socialism.
The alternative to capitalism has left more than 150 million dead. The result is always the same: misery, death, and hell on Earth.LONG LIVE FREEDOM, DAMN IT...!!! pic.twitter.com/KaObJM6XLE— Milei in English - Official Account (@jmilei_english) June 18, 2026
But beware of the binary choice, because it tends to obscure a third choice they don't want you to know about.
Now I am very much aware of the philosophy of Ayn Rand, Objectivism, that stood model for that binary attitude of Libertarianism. Rand presented it as an absolute moral choice. As an refugee from the Soviet Union, to Rand, Communism was an absolute evil.
I don't pretend to be an expert on Roman Catholic subsidiarity or on Eastern Orthodox Symphonia, but there must be a better way to manage the digital revolution than the mistakes made, mitigating the consequences of the Industrial Revolution.
The European Union of course is off with a pretty bad start. Coming from a point of view that the more control, the better, is not conducive to anything to do with a highly complicated subject that has the potential to shake societies to their core.
Yet they express the wish to be digitally independent of the US. But the very idea is already a bad joke.
