WAR IN ISRAEL: COMPLACENCY AFTER 20 YEARS OF PEACE?

Israel is continuing to soften up Gaza as soldiers are waiting for orders to go in for the ground invasion, going house to house in urban combat. Hamas' military targets are located in civilian buildings like schools, mosques and hospitals. As the IDF spokesman explains, beneath the surface level infrastructure lurks a network of tunnels from Gaza City to elsewhere in the strip that can only be penetrated with bunker busting bombs. Morally the situation is confusing to some in the Western world, primarily in the Leftist and liberal contingent. As in national politics, partisan positions -- irrespective of ethics and whatever other objective criteria -- are dominating the discourse. If Muslims are beheading babes in arms, so be it. Tribalism is the standard. 


If on the other hand, Jews would be guilty of such unspeakable acts, there'd be hell to pay.*

* Following controversies the Jerusalem Post has now confirmed based on verified photos of the bodies that the reports of babies being burnt and decapitated in Hamas's assault on Kfar Aza are correct. PM Netanyahu's office has released some pictures on TwitX with a sensitive content warning (link). 

In other words, Prof. Dershowitz's objectivity test that he calls "the shoe on the other foot test" has left the building.

On the Right we sometimes see the same subjectivity, but to a much lesser degree. This can be explained by the fact that Postmodern Leftist intellectuals have long denied even the possibility of the existence of objectivity. Hence no one on the Left is even trying anymore. Watch the media for perfect examples!

Some are taking the opportunity of delving into the historical records, for what that is worth. While that is interesting and contributes to the understanding of the context, history has largely been overtaken by moral issues in this part of the Middle East.

For example, it may be true that Arab Muslims have equal rights in a secular state, the systematic targeting over many years of Jewish civilians by Palestinian terrorists, has morally transcended whatever minority rights they may have.

The right to life comes first in the hierarchy of rights and transcends every other right, for without life, all other rights are irrelevant anyway.

Egged on by Obama's warped world view, the US and the West, made a capital error making cooperation with the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Hamas is the Palestinian Chapter,  the central part of their foreign policy program in the Middle East.

It soon became apparent how wrong it was, when Obama and his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton started fomenting 'Arab Springs' all over the place that brought the Muslim Brotherhood into power in Egypt, an organization Obama e.a. saw as the 'moderate' version of Islamism with which they could work. 

When things started to go sideways very rapidly and the people of Egypt took control of their own destiny, rule by MB was done quite rapidly. Egypt saved itself from descending into a MB hellhole by the breadth of a hair and by the sheer pluckiness of its people! Who knew? It went so far that Egypt at some point issued warrants for Obama's and Hillary's arrest (link). 

But it wasn't for want of trying by the Obama-Clinton click in the US. They were playing that game till the bitter end in 2016 (link). The Biden regime is again on the same trajectory, this time with regard to Iran! As we have explained elsewhere these folks are incapable of learning anything! 

But the question is, what went wrong this time in Israel? What did Egyptians have that Israel has now lost? As we have said in "Netanyahu declares Israel at War" (link):

"Israel is a Western country. Meaning, its culture closely follows -- or even sets -- cultural developments in the US and Europe. It is home to a vocal liberal crowd that is as much insane as the next American or European liberal.

If you realize the wokeisms going on in these continents in the military and in the security states, it is not a stretch to imagine them being more occupied with gender equality and transgenderism than with their actual jobs. 

What's more, Israel is in the throngs of a culture war over judiciary reform that has the emotions of the liberal contingent on edge to the point of collapse (link)."
