WOKE IDEOLOGY: THE WEST IS BECOMING A LEPER COLONY

Roughly since the turn of the last century the West has been suffering from a new form of cultural Marxism, known as 'woke' ideology. It covers a plethora of social justice issues, from gay rights to the legalized crime of gender affirmative medical procedures on minors that threatens the lives of an entire generation. Just when you thought that the bottom of the pit was within reach, some fresh iteration of woke insanity ensues. It went from bad to worse. This Marxist, collectivist mental disease -- cloaked as radical democratic liberalism -- is not just killing Western culture itself. It is also negatively affecting its standing in the rest of the world in all kinds of ways.


Liberalism proper started its life in the era of the pre Enlightenment as the crown on the Scientific Revolution. But it contained an innate flaw: moral relativism. That was no problem at first, because liberalism developed at the time when various denominations of Protestantism were still universally observed in the Anglo-Saxon world.

The innate flaw only became apparent during the secularization process in the 20th century.  But even that did not have to be fatal, as it was embedded in the world view of individualism: live and let live was the leading principle. 

All that changed with the onset of postmodernism when liberalism was combined with a Leftist collective view of society. This was the coup de grace for liberalism as a moral guide for the individual. This explains why liberalism at this point is indistinguishable from Marxism.

The volitional principle of  live and let live was replaced with the universal moral imperative. This is key! From now on every virtuous person on earth must openly and whole-heartedly embrace and practice, as a matter of 'human rights' and 'democracy', the woke ideology.

Enter city organized and tax payer funded "pride months" and rainbow flags, whether you -- the individual citizen -- likes it or not. You shall like it and pay for it, because this is everyone's right! 

The EU violated the principle of original liberalism to not legislate moral issues by declaring adherence to the woke ideology the law for all its member states. They are all complying dutifully. Only Hungary and Poland can be trusted to issue token protests.

The revolution started to eat its own children when the liberal moral good to 'never foist your morality on somebody else' came full circle and the wokesters started cancelling renegades left, right and center as an intimidation tactic to foist their morality on well, everybody else. 

The woke brigades may be able to intimidate and impose lawfare on their compatriots, but it is entirely unacceptable to virtually any other world culture. A clash of civilizations is inevitable at this point. Apart that is, of any legitimate foreign policy considerations, like economic and monetary issues and competition for resources.

Foisting a morality on a non compliant people is the worst form of tyranny imaginable. It is making the West unacceptable as a partner at this point. It wouldn't be so bad under 'live and let live'. But now they declared their woke perversions a universal imperative that each everyone must love and practice...or you are evil.

The West seems to have woken up (no pun intended) to the idea that economic aid can be used as leverage in their quest to change the entire world in their image. For developing countries that can't abide by this moral blackmail, it may a blessing in disguise and their ticket out of pseudo colonialism.
