WORLD WAR 3: EMPIRE VERSUS NATION

Recent developments in Spain clearly illustrate the new political dichotomy of our day: Liberal Empire versus the traditional National State. It is happening in many countries in Europe and the Americas. But it is not a political dispute in the traditional sense of the word. In the prosperous decennia following World War 2 politics was dominated by rivalry between the political Left and the Right: two political movements sharing a national vision, but two different paths to reach a liberal, or a traditional version of their societies. The present is an entirely different animal. The state of the future will be too small to hold them both. The winner will take all and rule over its ideal vision, either a liberal empire or a traditional national state.

The initiative here is clearly on the side of the imperialists, whose political program by definition foresees in open borders for a population made up of universal mankind.

The nationalists are reactively playing catch up to all of this. The imperialists are playing for keeps and are increasingly willing to use information warfare, lawlessness and violence to hold on to power where they hold it, like in the US and in Spain.

Tweep @IberianSpirit posted a thread explaining what is going on in his country. We are writing his thread out for easy reading, ending with the entire thread in a Threadreader page.

After the last elections, the president* of the socialist party (he's been the president* of Spain for the last years) has been organizing his pacts with the far left and with the separatist parties (there are several), in order to seek their support and to be able to stay in power.

After having obtained the majority of support necessary to govern, he still needed the support of one of the Catalan pro-independence parties, which demanded amnesty for Catalan politicians convicted of crimes.

In the agreement between both parties, it has been agreed, not only the amnesty, but also a referendum of self-determination (for the national recognition of Catalonia), financial autonomy for Catalonia and that Catalonia collects 100% of the taxes paid in Catalonia.

This, in addition to the very serious aspect of negotiating with the unity of Spain, makes some regions more than others, dividing them into first and second class regions. Thus, the Spanish State will continue to send millions of euros to Catalonia, but not the other way around.

Thus, in order to maintain this system, other regions that are not as developed as Catalonia, such as Andalusia, Extremadura or Castilla La Mancha, will be affected by severe cuts. To give more money to one part, money has to be taken from another.

Added to this is the fact that important figures, such as the King, who is supposed to defend the unity of Spain, have not pronounced themselves on the matter.

Spain was one of those European countries that had a hard time uniting into a central state ruled from a single capital. You can tell from the post that the independence of the regions is still a hot issue, primarily for Catalonia and the Bask country.

We started this post on the new dichotomy of Empire versus National State. But this is not the only opposition that is increasingly tearing nations apart. As we have said, open borders and a view of mankind as a universal species, is part and parcel of the imperial world view.

The peace overtures of the Abraham Accords lulled the world into the illusion of a peaceful future for the Middle East in particular and Muslims in general. Biden's policies and the Muslim Brotherhood combined have managed to turn back the clock some five years or so.

Spain is an example of a European country with a large population of Muslims that entered Spain under the imperial open borders program. Veterans Day in the US and Armistice Day in the UK showed how open borders, combined with the universal mankind philosophy is destabilizing entire nations. And it is only getting worse.
