Earlier this week we posted on how free speech is under pressure all over Western culture (source). And that trend is now expanding to the legal and judicial realms (referred to as lawfare). The police are now more concerned with mean tweets than they are with real crimes. We need to expand on that subject, with not just ordinary citizens and opposition figures being prosecuted, but lawyers and legal scholars are being witch-hunted as well. The message is clear: if you dare to defend or work for the opposition, you are fair game for our attack dogs in the judiciary.
