PART 2: MITSOTAKIS ON THE TRUMP RESET, ABRAHAM ACCORDS, ENERGY POLICY
Earlier this week we relayed part 1 (link) of an exclusive interview that Breitbart's Matt Boyle had with Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis ahead of the Delphi Economic Forum. Matt Boyle just released the second part of his exclusive interview relating to Greece's role in the EastMed and the Middle East hinterland. He writes:
In second part of my interview this week with Greek Prime Minister
Mitsotakis, we discussed Greece's geopolitical strengths as it relates to helping President Trump expand the Abraham Accords in the Middle East as well as the IMEEC corridor.

Mitsotakis said that Greece, which is the closest European continental nation geographically to the Middle East is "considered credible interlocutors with all the countries in the region." He said his nation has close relations with Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, the Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Egypt, and more. More Mistotakis:
"If at any point we can play a helpful role, in promoting peace and stability in our region, we would be very happy to do that." The Abraham Accords, of course, were one of US President Donald Trump's signature diplomatic accomplishments in his first term -- and still are one of the biggest diplomatic breakthroughs in decades -- and the hope is if peace can be reached in Gaza that the Saudis would eventually join the accords.
That could unlock major potential for the West in terms of connecting the Far East with Europe and the US geopolitically and economically through Israel. I've spoken previously with Israeli PM Netanyahu about this as well, and there is a lot of energy worldwide towards unlocking future deals. People the planet over think Trump's return to the White House is energizing a push for peace, diplomacy, and deeper economic relations everywhere.
Mitsotakis also talked about energy policy, arguing that while Greece is a net importer of gas (though Exxon-Mobil and Chevron are beginning offshore exploration off the island of Crete) that Greek shipping companies (a dominant force in Greek heritage and history dating back to ancient times) are a massive percentage of the worldwide energy industry shipping -- about 25 percent of the world's LNG is shipped on Greek ships.
Mitsotakis: "This is something I really want to stress, we are net importers of gas and I see no reason why we should not also look in the medium term for our own gas, but also when it comes to transporting gas and LNG, we control a quarter of the world΄s LNG fleet, so we play an important role in the energy supply. All these make Greece an important country punching above our weight in this part of the world."

A "migration magnet"?In a secret paper, the Greek government argued that Germany's lax policies regarding i) immigrant family reunification, ii) residence permits and iii) citizenship were important "pull factors" for illegal #immigration to Europehttps://t.co/K2H961VzNN— Ioannis E Kolovos (@ioannisekolovos) April 11, 2025
